God Squad Youth is the YMF (Youth Ministry Fellowship) of Mesa View United Methodist Church.
The purpose of this ministry can be summed up by the five purposes of the ministry:
1. Christian Foundation - Our lord and savior Jesus Christ is the foundation for our activities and gatherings. We strive to be like Jesus in our thoughts, words, and actions.
2. Growth in Faith - Young people are growing and developing in many ways. God Squad is a place where youth can pause to listen for the voice of God in their lives and learn how to listen to God's voice in the midst of a world trying to capture their attention and devotion.
3. Help for Daily Life - Why am I here? What happens when I die? What is my relationship with the people I live with? What difference does it make how I live my life? These are questions youth will consider and we believe are important to wrestle with as we stive to live out our faith in Christ.
4. Leadership Development - Youth who choose to have opportunities to take part in leadership of the group, so it truly is THEIR own group. Learning leadership skills provides youth with a valueable tool for life and helps develop healthy self-esteem within them.
5. Healthy Relationships - Every person needs a place where he or she feels accepted. God Squad is a place where we strive, though not always perfectly, to accept others as Jesus accepted and loved each person as a child of God.
God Squad Activities are:
BY Youth - Some activities are led by youth; these activities provide real life leadership opportunities for youth.
WITH Youth - Some activities are led with youth; example is our montly leadership team meeting.
FOR Youth - Some activities are for youth; these are special events planned by adult leaders of Mesa View Church.
